For other projects, information on expected results is usually included in the description.</pb:expectedResults><pb:resultsAchieved>Results achieved as of the end of the project (June 2010) include:

 1. Alliance for African Women Initiative - sanitation has improved for over 3,000 pupils in three schools in the three Northern Regions with the rehabilitation of urinal, toilets and provision of incinerators. Girl friendly urinals and sanitary towels have been provided and 751 girls have stayed in school.

 2. Presbyterian Women’s Centre - 54 women have acquired skills training in grass cutter rearing. As well, they have acquired skills in producing soya bean khebabs and yoghurt making and all are earning incomes. They report that they now have more control over decision-making of household level expenditures. Many are now able to keep their children in school.

 3. Rural Women’s Initiative for Development - micro irrigation established, boosting dry season farming and improved food security and income of 600 girls who are now farming on 50 acres of land.

 4. Ghana Trade Union Congress - increased the number of females in leadership positions. On average, 3 out of 7 agriculture union leaders elected in 44 communities are women.

 5. Zonta Club of Accra II - enhanced access to water by young women in the reformatory. This has had profound impact on the quality of life, productivity and the health status of 20 young girls. And has reduced the work burden of young girls at the reformatory. Training has been provided in dressmaking, hairdressing and catering, as well as in plumbing.

 6. National Coalition Against Water Privatisation - has established a functional gender sensitive Local Action Committees to engage in water governance and their capacities have been built to undertake water related initiatives which respond to gender issues. Data has been gathered from the six communities through action oriented research on water issues, and campaigns on water governance and management are being organized.</pb:resultsAchieved></pb:project>
