| Description | |
|
This project contributes to a reduction in the number of injuries and deaths resulting from explosions of landmines and unexploded ordnances (UXOs) through the provision of mine risk education and the promotion of safe behaviour among at-risk groups in Sudan, thereby enabling these communities to reduce the risks associated with living in landmine-affected areas. This initiative aims to increase knowledge of the dangers of mines and UXOs within landmine-affected communities; increase access to data on landmine victims generated through health facilities in five affected states; increase the ability of national mine action centres and local nongovernmental organizations to implement and manage mine risk education projects/activities; and improve the capacity of teachers to deliver mine risk education programs within their schools. |
