On World Entrepreneurship Day, we celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit that drives individuals to contribute to the ongoing growth and development of their country's economy.
Because sustainable economic growth is the most effective way to reduce poverty over the long-term, it remains critical that we keep working with developing world entrepreneurs to help them develop the skills and knowledge they need to operate their businesses successfully.
Through innovation and job creation, and with the right combination of ideas and inspiration, entrepreneurs can drive economic prosperity in developing countries. Today is an opportune time to recognise that the best way to help reduce poverty in developing countries is to give them the tools to help themselves.
Today, Canada reaffirms our strong commitment to building sustainable economic growth in the developing world. We support the entrepreneurial spirit by focusing on stimulating sustainable economic growth. In the developing world, we work to grow micro, small, and medium-sized businesses and to create the conditions that can help them flourish.
On World Entrepreneurship Day, we salute the men and women, who as entrepreneurs, drive and contribute to their local economies, reducing poverty and creating sustainable economic growth.
