Project Browser Data Set

Open Government

The Project Browser provides basic information on CIDA-funded projects. Project profiles can be accessed through CIDA's website, through project lists linked to country pages and other pre-established lists, or by using the Project Browser's basic or advanced search functions.

As of May 2012, the Project Browser contains over 3,000 profiles, representing approximately 90 percent of CIDA's current and recently completed projects. The data presented in these profiles shows what is entered in CIDA's information systems to help manage Agency activities and is frequently updated. Information about Afghanistan bilateral projects has been maintained on the Canada's Engagement in Afghanistan website over the last few years. The process of transferring this information into the Project Browser is now underway. Also, many of CIDA's multilateral projects are not yet published in the Project Browser.

The Project Browser was created in 2004 and is a work in progress, offering ever-improving access to CIDA project information.

Please consult the section on how the data set is generated, the licence information, and the data fields and definitions section before using the data.

How the data set is generated

Frequency of updates

The Project Browser is a semi-automatic system facilitating publication of current project information. The system refreshes every 15 minutes, and individual profiles may change between refreshes. The date on which each profile was updated is included on the published profile and in the data sets.

Results

Statements on results achieved appear at the bottom of the description in some of the published profiles. This too is a work in progress and will continue in the months ahead.
