Father's Day

June 17, 2012

On Father's Day, we celebrate fathers all over the world for the central role they play in caring and providing for their children, teaching them, and playing with them.

A father is many things—a role model, a leader, a friend. Above all else, a father is someone who cherishes his children, is involved in their everyday life, and works relentlessly to pass on the values and qualities that will help them grow into responsible, upstanding adults.

On Father's Day, we celebrate the many fathers who care for, and educate, their sons and daughters. We celebrate fathers who participate fully in their families.

Finally, on Father's Day we thank all fathers, in Canada and abroad, for embracing their place in the lives of their children, and understanding that no responsibility in life can compete with the responsibility that comes with being a good father.
