International Development Assistance Commitments
The table below tracks progress by fiscal year and provides information about which commitments have been completed, are on target or are off target. While some commitments are CIDA-specific, many involve whole-of-government approaches and include other government departments. CIDA's key commitments do not constitute legally binding obligations nor are they legislated.
This table is updated on a regular basis. If citing as a reference, please note the date in the upper left-hand corner on the version used.
The commitments are presented according to three categories:
- Commitments fostering a specific sector
- Commitments relating to CIDA's increased country focus
- Commitments specific to a country or region
To the right of each commitment, you will find a sign indicating if the commitment is on target:

Keep in mind that:
- Every commitment in this table contains important notes, including links to related public announcements and other reference material.
- It is important to note the unit of measure for each commitment (i.e., $M; metric tonnes; number of countries) specified in the top left cell.
- The commitments are outlined by fiscal year (April-March), with the exception of two: Food Aid Convention, which is outlined by crop year (July-June) and Top 5 bilateral donor status, which is outlined by calendar year (January-December).
- The year with the indication "Preliminary" denotes that the figures may change following further quality assurance.
- The current fiscal year appears in bold; CIDA-specific lines are shaded for ease of reading.
