Commitments made by the international community to development goals and aid effectiveness principles, development studies, and development partners.
Over the past decade, Canada and the international community have rallied around a shared vision of development goals and aid effectiveness principles. This vision is expressed mainly through key international commitments. As a result of these commitments, Canada, in 2009, developed its aid effectiveness agenda.
At the 2010 G-8 Summit, Canada launched the Muskoka Initiative. This new set of commitments will improve the health of mothers, newborns and children and reduce the number of preventable deaths in developing countries.
Through CIDA's Open Data portal, an overview of the Government of Canada's International Development Assistance Commitments is available.
