What We Do in North Africa and Middle East

Canada's activities in the region are aimed at bridging social and economic gaps, improving governance, strengthening democratic institutions, and ensuring human security.

To meet these goals, Canada has adopted a pan-governmental approach that integrates diplomacy, peacekeeping, security, and development assistance. This links stability and security to sustainable development goals and increases the strategic impact of Canadian foreign policy.

As part of Canada's Aid Effectiveness Agenda, CIDA focuses on West Bank and Gaza in this region.

CIDA also supports multilateral and global programs in North Africa and the Middle East, as well as Partnerships with Canadians Programs.
