CIDA's Humanitarian Response to Crises

Human suffering-caused by natural disasters, armed conflict and economic, political or environmental crises-prompts an understandable desire to help. Canadians have always responded generously to international appeals for assistance in times of emergency and disaster.

As the Government of Canada's lead agency for international humanitarian assistance, the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) ensures that Canada's response is timely and appropriate. Working in coordination with other government departments and key humanitarian partners, CIDA responds to a variety of critical needs around the world.
