The Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) helps Asian nations develop the capacity to address the continent's most pressing challenges: reducing poverty; consolidating economic gains; strengthening governance and political inclusion; social development; and the environment.

CIDA also supports Afghanistan's reconstruction and continues its support to the victims of the 2004 Tsunami and the 2005 South Asia earthquake.
