The Government of Canada is committed to making its international assistance more efficient, focused and accountable. CIDA recognizes that transparency and accountability are critical to improving the effectiveness and impact of investments in international development. That is why CIDA regularly reports to Canadians on its plans, activities and results throughout the year. CIDA is also an observer to the International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI).
CIDA's website provides Canadians with accessible information on the Agency's country strategies and reports. It includes all of CIDA's proactive disclosure reports, listing financial agreements the Agency has signed by quarter: contracts over $10,000 in value and grant and contribution awards worth more than $25,000.
It also includes access to the Project Browser, a constantly updated and searchable database of information on CIDA-funded projects. CIDA was one of the first donors to offer a project database online when the Project Browser was added to the website in 2004.
CIDA is also transparent about performance, publishing information on results in a variety of reports, as well as evaluations and internal audits.
In starting to publish open data, CIDA is responding to the evolving needs of researchers and other stakeholders and demonstrating its commitment to continue increasing its transparency. Over the coming months, please visit this section of the website again as well as other CIDA pages for updated and more accessible information.
