To restore hope among the people of Banda Aceh (Indonesia), there needed to be a sense of teamwork, people working together in a cooperative effort. Re-establishing livelihoods was an important element of the projects supported by CIDA. By the end of the project in June 2009, 6,886 houses had been built.
