Position Description:	Position Description: Completing a Local Area Plan for Sauteurs, focused on identifying employment opportunities and service deficiencies, in order to develop Sauteurs as a northern regional centre Initiating a new regional plan for Annadale in northeastern Grenada, focused on broader regional development goals, as well as more specific community development goals Preparing recommendations and project proposals Undertaking spatial analysis, project identification and conceptualizing projects Assisting with the development and implementation of a process for integrating an assessment of hazards into the local area planning process Qualifications: Recent graduate of a university program in regional planning Academic or work background related to regional planning, with a focus on smaller cities & towns Basic understanding of Geographic Information Systems in a planning context Excellent English language communication skills Understanding of development issues in the Caribbean generally, and of the need to work with sensitivity and diplomacy in a foreign culture Description du poste: Réaliser un plan des zones locales pour Sauteurs, en répertoriant plus particulièrement les possibilités d'emploi et les lacunes au chapitre des services, de façon à faire de cette ville un centre régional pour le Nord de la Grenade. Mettre en place un nouveau plan régional pour Annadale, dans le Nord-Est de la Grenade, axé sur des objectifs de développement régional plus larges et des objectifs de développement communautaire plus précis. Formuler des recommandations et préparer des propositions de projets. Réaliser des analyses spatiales et travailler à l'identification et à la conceptualisation de projets. Participer à l'élaboration et à la mise en oeuvre d'un processus pour intégrer l'évaluation des risques dans le processus de planification des zones locales. Qualifications: Diplômé récent d'un programme universitaire en aménagement régional. Formation ou expérience de travail liée à la planification régionale qui met l'accent sur les villes et les localités de moindre envergure. Compréhension de base des systèmes d'information géographique dans un contexte de planification. Excellente capacité de communiquer en anglais. Compréhension des problèmes de développement dans les Caraïbes en général, et de la nécessité de faire preuve de doigté et de diplomatie en travaillant dans une culture étrangère.

Host Organization Details:	The Physical Planning Unit (PPU) is the principal public sector authority with responsibility for policy planning and development control in Grenada. The PPU has worked in partnership with CIP and its members since 2005 in order to integrate principles and practice of hazard mitigation and participatory planning into regional plans. La Physical Planning Unit (PPU) est la principale autorité publique responsable de la planification des politiques et du contrôle de l’aménagement à Grenade. Depuis 2005, elle collabore avec l’ICU et ses membres afin d’intégrer dans les plans régionaux les pratiques et les principes relatifs à l’atténuation des dangers et à la planification participative.
