Position Description: Position Description:
Support a team of Guyanese and Canadian professionals in preparing tools for the implementation of CDPs in urban, suburban and rural areas of Guyana, including,

  • Organization and coordination of CDP Implementation Committees
  • Preparation of CDP implementation plans
  • Delivery of community demonstration projects
  • Quarterly and annual plan monitoring and reporting

Qualifications:
  • University degree in urban or community planning
  • Strong and demonstrated understanding of plan implementation
  • Excellent English language communication skills
  • Understanding of development issues in the Caribbean generally, and of the need to work with sensitivity and diplomacy in a foreign culture

Description du poste:
Appuyer une équipe de professionnels canadiens et guyanais dans la préparation d'outils pour la mise en œuvre des plans de développement communautaire (PDC) pour des zones rurales, suburbaines et urbaines de la Guyana, y compris :

Qualifications:
  • Diplôme universitaire en aménagement urbain ou communautaire.
  • Compréhension manifeste et approfondie de la mise en œuvre d'un plan.
  • Excellente capacité de communiquer en anglais.
  • Compréhension des problèmes de développement dans les Caraïbes en général, et de la nécessité de faire preuve de doigté et de diplomatie en travaillant dans une culture étrangère.
Host Organization: Central Housing and Planning Authority (CH&PA)
Host Organization Details: The Central Housing and Planning Authority (CH&PA) is a semi-autonomous Agency that operates under the auspices of the Ministry of Housing and Water. CH&PA is comprised of six Departments: Land Development and Allocation; Planning and Settlement Development; Settlement Regularisation and Upgrading; Projects: Low Income Settlement Programme; Management Information System and Human Resources. In addition to CH&PA’s Head Office, there are six Regional Housing Offices. The Central Planning and Housing Authority of Guyana was created in 1948 to address the housing needs of the working class of Guyana. It has as its objectives the following:
· The acquisition and allocation of lands for housing purposes and urban development
· The design, survey and development of schemes on its own and in collaboration with various groups
· The regulation of town and country planning

La Central Housing and Planning Authority (CH&PA) est un organisme semi-autonome qui relève du ministère du Logement et de l’Eau. Elle compte six départements : aménagement et attribution des terres; planification et établissements; régularisation et amélioration des établissements; projets : programme d’établissements pour personnes à faible revenu; système d’information de gestion et ressources humaines. Six bureaux régionaux du logement viennent s’ajouter au siège de la CH&PA. La Central Planning and Housing Authority de la Guyana a été créée en 1948 pour répondre aux besoins en logements de la classe ouvrière. Elle a pour objectifs :
. l’acquisition et l’attribution de terres pour la construction de logements et le développement urbain;
· la conception, la planification et l’élaboration de projets avec ou sans la collaboration d’autres groupes;
