Position Description: Position Description:

  • The Database Designer will collaborate with staff to:
  • Design an organizational database that will collect and analyze data to measure, monitor and improve the performance of Pro-rural's microfinance support to small and medium-sized businesses;
  • Collect and import the relevant qualitative and quantitative data for the database;
  • Provide performance and impact reports from the database to Pro-rural on their microfinance programs;
  • Assist and train staff on database design, implementation and management.

Qualifications:
  • A degree in Computer Sciences, Information Systems, or other related fields;
  • Two years experience in database administration, implementation of information systems and developing applications with Web-based technology;
  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative data collection and comparison;
  • Minimum of high intermediate ability in Spanish;
  • Capacity to live and work in another culture;
  • Understanding of or experience working in a non-profit environment an asset;
Host Organization: Pro-rural
Host Organization Details: Pro-rural and CCI work together to reduce poverty through the provision of micro finance services and the promotion of a social economy. Over three years, Pro-rural and CCI plan to strengthen organizational capacity with respect to micro finance services in a number of different areas, including the marketing and supply chain needs of small and mid-size agricultural businesses. The interns will contribute to organisational processes that will enable Pro-rural to better assess the impact of its work in these areas.
