Save Your Generation Ethiopia: Currently SYG/E has been implementing youth reproductive health projects in Addis Ababa with the support of Family Health International (FHI), German Foundation for World (DSW) and Global Fund. It has also rural youth reproductive health program in Buta Jira and Debre Birhan some 130 and 125 Km out of the capital, funded by CORHA and Pact Ethiopia respectively. SYG is also working with fifteen youth to youth initiatives found in different parts of the country. Hiwot: The organization is in the process of reviewing its Strategic Plan and Management document with full participation of its constituencies and other stakeholders. Therefore the work of the intern will be associated with finalizing the plan and designing specific projects based on the strategic plan as well as assisting the organisation's effort in seeking strategic donors that can support the plan financially. In Canada The Canadian phase of this internship will include pre-departure briefing, preparation, and resettlement activities. Six months of this internship will be spent in placement overseas. Overseas Both Save Your Generation Ethiopia and Hiwot work to improve the sexual and reproductive health of youth through information and education. The work performed by the intern will be analogous in its contributions to both organisations. The intern in this placement will: - Work closely with Hiwot and SYG/E to identify projects relevant to the needs of the organizations' target groups - Train staff at both organizations in advocacy tools - Assist both organizations in developing a funding plan and identifying possible funders - Help develop a user-friendly monitoring and evaluation system for both organizations |

| Host Organization Details: | SYG/E is discharging its responsibilities at both national and international levels by working in close cooperation with agencies, which have similar objective to that of SYG/E. Currently SYG/E has partnership with the German foundation for world population (DSW) GTZ, Pact, UNICEF, UNAIDS and other international agencies. Nationally SYG/E works with the National and Regional HIV/AIDS Secretariat, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, the Organisation for Social Services for AIDS, Integrated Service for AIDS Prevention and Support, the Society of Women and AIDS in Africa-Ethiopia, the Christian Relief and Development Association, and several youth-to-youth self help initiatives located in different parts of the country. |
