Mandat : The Interagency Coalition on AIDS and Development (ICAD) was established in 1989 by a group of international development non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and AIDS Service Organizations (ASOs) concerned about the growing impact of HIV/AIDS in resource-poor communities in both developing countries and in Canada. ICAD's guiding principle has been that HIV/AIDS is more than a medical or health issue and its policies and programs have recognized that social and economic factors have a direct and severe impact on the vulnerability of individuals and communities affected by HIV/AIDS.

Position Description:


  • To assist Eden in the development of M&E tools and the indicators for the HIV and prevention programme;
  • To assist Eden with reporting and documentation of best practices;
  • To help Eden with resource mobilization;
  • To work with Eden to identify capacity gaps and opportunities for capacity strengthening;
  • To offer technical support in HIV and AIDS prevention.

Qualifications:

Post graduate in development studies with experience in the following areas:
  • Monitoring and evaluating
  • Documentation
  • Reporting
  • Resource mobilization
  • HIV prevention

Description du poste:
  • Aider Eden à mettre au point des outils de suivi et d'évaluation et des indicateurs pour le programme de prévention du VIH;
  • Seconder Eden dans l'établissement de rapports et la description des pratiques exemplaires;

Détails au sujet de l'organisation d'accueil : The mandate of the Southern African AIDS Trust (SAT) is to support community responses to HIV and AIDS and this support is two-fold: (a) SAT provides grants for core administrative expenses and HIV and AIDS programming activities, and (b) SAT provides technical support through skills building and lessons learning for effective and efficient HIV and AIDS service delivery at community level. A regional office is located in Harare, Zimbabwe. The intern will be attached to one of the SAT/Zimbabwe partners – Eden. Eden was established in 1997 to respond to the challenges raised by HIV and AIDS in Gokwe District of Zimbabwe. The mission of the organisation is to provide emotional, moral and spiritual support to people infected and affected by AIDS including orphans. Eden currently runs an integrated HIV and AIDS response involving home based care, orphan support, and HIV and AIDS prevention. The organisation is scaling up its HIV prevention programme in order to tackle the key drivers of the epidemic - multiple concurrent partnerships, intergenerational sex, gender disparities and poverty among other factors. The intern will assist Eden in the following areas: monitoring and evaluation,; documentation; reporting; resource mobilization; and HIV prevention.
