Since 1984, Rooftops Canada has been working with partner organizations to improve housing conditions, build sustainable communities and develop a shared vision of equitable global development. Rooftops Canada's focus is on disadvantaged communities in Africa and Asia. Our work contributes to Millennium Development Goal (MDG) 7, Target 11, which aims to improve the lives of at least 100 million slum dwellers by 2020. Rooftops Canada's approach to housing is guided by a vision of integrated sustainable human settlements development. Rooftops Canada's development work links shelter to poverty reduction through sustainable economic and social development, environmental protection, respect for human rights, democratization and gender equality.
