INPRHU Somoto is implementing a community development program in
marginal neighbourhoods of Somoto. Migration, promiscuity, sexual abuse, lack
of sexual education among youth and prostitution are some of the issues that
the health component of the program is in need of addressing. An HIV-AIDS and
other STD prevention program is being implemented, with the participation of
local institutions and community groups. Overseas The intern will contribute with INPRHU-Somoto and the community in the implementation of the HIV-AIDS and other STD prevention program by: - Helping facilitate planning, monitoring and evaluation processes for the program. - Helping design content and methodology for HIV-AIDS workshops for the different stakeholders (adults, youth, community groups). - Helping create a resource center on HIV-AIDs and other STDs. - Helping n the design of community based awareness raising activities for the prevention of HIV-AIDS. |
