Description du stage : YCG's Women & Gender Development Program was established in 2003. The program aims to foster socio-economic and gender equity through the empowerment and participation of women from rural communities.

This program supports the mobilization of womens groups through micro finance projects, gender workshops, and family mentoring and support groups.

In Canada
Prior to overseas departure this intern will receive 3-5 days of training at the YCI office in Toronto.

Upon the intern's return from their international post they will be required to implement and participate in a minimum of 5 speaking engagements to a total combined audience of at least 200 young Canadians. Presentations will be self-tailored but will include introductions to key development challenges in the host community, experiential highlights, information on CIDA internships, and key contributions of young Canadians to the global community.

Overseas
This intern will support the Rual Women's and Gender Development Program by assisting with:

- Planning and implementation of rural
- Supporting local conference activities
- Supporting local committee mobilization activities
- Providing logistical support for the family mentoring program.
