Description du stage : Provision of support to HelpAge Programs that aim at the social development of the elderly through advocacy, community education, and home based care for HIV/AIDS.

In Canada
-Attend Help the Aged (Canada) training and Department of Foreign Affairs, Centre for Intercultural Learning, workshop.
-In consultation with Project Manager, develop a job search strategy.
-Complete IYIP and HTAC documentation, register with ROCA (DFAIT).
-Complete required inoculations, visa and/or work permit, travel and travel insurance arrangements.
-Establish contact with overseas host organization.
-Attend HTAC and CIL debriefing sessions.
-Prepare a final report on activities, outputs and challenges, make recommendations for future programs.
-Promote the IYIP and intern's involvement.

Overseas
-Monitoring and Evaluating the impact of activities implemented by HelpAge Kenya and Partners to alleviate poverty facing older carers of Orphaned and Vulnerable Children and People living with AIDS.
-Facilitating Capacity building workshops aimed at raising awareness of community members on the impact of HIV/AIDS on older persons.
-Assisting in developing monitoring tools for the projects being implemented by HelpAge Kenya.
-Carrying out research on the impact of HIV/AIDS on Older persons in Ahero.
-obbying other organizations to integrate issues of older people in their programs.
-Networking with other organizations providing support to the elderly.

HAK dedicates its efforts to improving the quality of life and prospects of disadvantaged older persons in Kenya so they may live quality lives in their remaining years with dignity within their own communities.
