|Description du stage :||
To assist residents continue their ability to perform ADLs and to
conduct assessments, training and classes to improve all aspects of life at the
Francis Ham Home, Johnestown and Allman Town day centres and the day program at
the welfare office of the Salvation Army.
-Attend Help the Aged (Canada) training and Department of Foreign Affairs, Centre for Intercultural Learning, workshop.
-In consultation with Project Manager, develop a job search strategy.
-Complete IYIP and HTAC documentation, register with ROCA (DFAIT).
-Complete required inoculations, visa and/or work permit, travel and travel insurance arrangements.
-Establish contact with overseas host organization.
-Attend HTAC and CIL debriefing sessions.
-Prepare a final report on activities, outputs and challenges, make recommendations for future programs.
-Promote the IYIP and intern's involvement.
-Assess residents' levels of competence and independence while developing and implementing appropriate activity programs.
-Assess the residence and provide a written report on the accessibility for seniors with recommendations for improvement.
-Develop network of volunteers to continue the activity programs with the residents after the internship has been completed.
-Complete periodic reports updating management on the effectiveness of programs and progress being made.
-Provide training of staff on areas of need, in consultation with the Territorial Projects & Sponsorship Director.
-Monitor and evaluate the HTAC Adopt-a-Gran program implemented by the Salvation Army, St. vincent de Paul and the St. Patricks Foundation.
-Other duties as assigned by the Territorial Projects & Sponsorship Director.
