Reporting to the Program Manager, Tsunami Affected East Africa, the
Junior Delegate will assist with community based work. While the internship is
based in Madagascar, frequent travel to Mauritius, Comoros and La Reunion may
be required. The Junior Delegate will also work closely with the National
Societies in the region. Upon return from Africa, the Junior Delegate will work
closely with the Humanitarian Issues Program, during a one month internship in
Canada in which they will participate in public engagement activities with a
focus on youth. In Canada, during the domestic component of the internship, participate in various public engagement activities including: mentoring other youth; public education regarding global humanitarian issues; promoting humanitarian values, leadership and the work of the Red Cross/ Red Crescent Movement While overseas, the Junior Delegate will: - Assist with the assessments in selected communities - Support the Malagasy Red Cross Society with the development of various organizational development initiatives |
