Fundraising Researcher

Statut : Comblé
Organisation : Victoria International Development Education Association
Acronyme : VIDEA
Type : Organisme non gouvernemental
Mandat : VIDEA works to inspire thought and action on global issues, and has been involved in the promotion and delivery of global education in British Columbia since 1977. VIDEA actively engages teachers, students, youth and the general public in learning about--and becoming involved in--international issues, with a particular focus on the need for socially just and sustainable global development. VIDEA provides learning opportunities through special events, seminars, workshops, tours and conferences; it conducts research and publishes quality learning resources that are used in Canada, the United States, and overseas. Through such CIDA-funded projects as Harnessing the Wave: Community Action for Africa and Time to Deliver: Community Action on AIDS in Africa, VIDEA's Africa Programme creates sustaining linkages between Canadian communities and Zambian communities in the belief that community-driven, grass-roots action can lead to positive change. The Community Action for Africa Internship Project facilitates these community connections by supporting partnership-building with Zambian organizations, allowing VIDEA to develop a greater understanding of these organizations and the strengths and needs of the communities in which they work, while also providing young Canadians with valuable international work experience.
