In Guatemala's "Global Market", an understanding of the English language
is necessary for success. Custom English Design Services, (CEDS) business
relationships cut across borders of culture and language, and their clients are
both within Guatemala and half a world away. CEDS is a community resource
organization that addresses the issues of language as a barrier to employment
and success. CEDS use of community links and organizations makes them a very
strong member of the community and a pro-active institute to partner with. One
of the emerging goals of CEDS is to develop a Corporate Social Responsibility
arm whereby appealing to less privileged and At-risk youth in the area, through
appropriate and accessible educational program planning and delivery.
The four week pre-departure training program "Young Professionals Going Global" is described in detail under the Implementation Plan and Time Line tab.
The Youth-at-Risk Outreach Officer (YAROO) will aid CEDS in researching and identifying potential methods of identifiying and engaging At-Risk Youth as well as assisting in the development of accessible educational programs for this targeted demographic in Guatemala City. The YAROO will research the needs of the local Youth at Risk, the programs already in existence in the catchment area and the programs already administered through CEDS to assist in the implementation of this educational outreach program.

|Détails au sujet de l'organisation d'accueil :||CEDS mandate is to provide practical and time efficient English Language instruction, which is custom designed to meet the needs of local businesses or the individual student. CEDS prides its self on using proven instructional methodologies that make learning English easy and relevant, therefore helping prepare today's business/individual for tomorrow. In recent years CEDS is focused on giving back into its community by developing a social/community outreach arm to link its programs with local At-Risk and disadvantaged youth.|
