This project contributes to the CIDA priority of poverty reduction, by
strengthening the capacity of the ITEC to actively contribute to strengthening
employability skills and quality of service in the tourism industry. The
purpose of this project is to increase the ITEC's capacity to identify
participants for tourism training opportunities, especially to marginalized
groups and to empower the disadvantaged populations with employment
competencies for work in the growing sector of tourism development. In Canada 4-week Pre-departure program "Young Professionals Going Global" detailed under the Implementation Plan and Time Line tab Overseas The Community Outreach Officer will work with marginalized groups, including youth, women and the Yryapú, on tourism training and employment placements. The Community Outreach Officer will work with the ITEC, to assist in the development of training modules for Women, Youth and the Yryapú in fair trade education and handicrafts. The COO will also assist ITEC & NC with the identification of suitable participants for recruitment into the training programs, help develop a participant monitoring and evaluation system to ensure inclusive participation and assist the ITEC in researching employment placements for the graduates of the modules. |

| Détails au sujet de l'organisation d'accueil : | The ITEC aims to address the critical shortage in the skilled and educated labour force in Missiones Province by building its capacity to be a regional trainer. The ITEC's programs target the local community and at risk populations such as women and indigenous peoples with a goal of preparing competent workers; skilled for work in the emerging sectors (environmental awareness, eco-tourism, small business development, tourism development and Hospitality) of Argentina's redeveloping economy. |
