The Provincial Delegation of Basic Education is currently undergoing a
review of its tools and methods of implementing gender mainstreaming tools.
The Canadian phase of this internship will include pre-departure briefing, preparation, and resettlement activities. Six months of this internship will be spent in placement overseas.
Building on the work of the previous CIDA-IYIP Researcher, the Gender Advisor will be responsible for:
- Disseminating the research identified and documented by the Gender Researcher regarding social practices that prevent the education of girls in the province.
- Collaborating with Provincial Delegation of Basic Education members to develop a framework for gender mainstreaming in the different stages of education and implement this framework.
- Implementing a marketing strategy for mainstreaming girl education to sensitize the general public as well as education practitioners.
- Developing and building relationships with officials of the Provincial Delegation of Basic Education.
