In collaboration with members of the Development Committee of Kalfou and
citizens of the region, the intern will assist in the creation of a local
development plan and will be involved in its presentation to potential
stakeholders (i.e. provincial and national government, international NGOs,
The Canadian phase of this internship will include pre-departure briefing, public engagement, preparation, and resettlement activities. Six months of this internship will be spent in placement overseas.
The intern placed at the Development Committee of Kalfou will primarily be responsible for the creation of a development plan for the region. Specifically, the intern will assist in:
- Developing a cultural and socio-economic database
- Collecting and analyzing data with participative approaches, including surveys, interviews, meetings, and participation of community activities
- Acting as an advocate for the Committee
- Project development
- Presentation of the plan to interested stakeholders
