GICAF is in the process of reviewing its Strategic Plan for Vocational
Training with full participation of its constituencies and other stakeholders.
Therefore the work of the intern will be associated with drafting the plan and
designing specific projects based on the strategic plan as well as assisting
the organisation's effort in increasing capacity to ensure the long-term
sustainability of the plan.
The Canadian phase of this internship will include pre-departure briefing, preparation, and resettlement activities. Six months of this internship will be spent in placement overseas.
GIC Avenir Femme works to improve the economic and social skills of women and girls in the Far North of Cameroon. The intern in this placement will:
- Work with GICAF to identify projects relevant to the needs of the organizations' vocational training needs
- Train staff at GICAF in training tools for women and girls in the region
- Help develop a user-friendly monitoring and evaluation system for GICAF's vocational training program
