This intern will work with ACCES and LIFA staff to develop/refine, test,

The intern will also begin to research and collect samples of educational materials from other organizations doing similar outreach work. He/she will also begin a professional journal, including goals for skills development, and will make a plan for staying in communication and educating contacts in Canada who wish to provide support and learn about Africa and development.
This person will work with ACCES and LIFA staff to develop/refine, test, and fine-tune the materials and presentations used in our various outreach programs to community members and LIFA students, mostly new through the new VSF-funded CIDA project. These will include (and probably have more added later):
- general health and prevention
- health issues specifically around water (tied to the new wells)
- gender sensitization and women's empowerment
- financial knowledge
This intern will also help establish the intergenerational mentoring groups and womens'/girls' health/HIV clubs, and coordinate their communication with Canadian peer groups. This will include bringing them to the Kakamega office and helping them learn to communicate by email/Skype/website.
