The project in Santo Andre is part of a larger project New Public
Consortia to identify community development issues and opportunities to
collaborate interjurisdictionally to improve the conditions of socially
excluded populations. We will work in research and communication opportunities
and building regional opportunities for collaboration Facilitate and document
meetings, and development of regional strategies for youth participation. In
Santo Andre the project is focusing on decent work of residents in informal
settlements. Overseas The intern will be responsible for doing participatory research with low-income communities in Santo Andre improve participation of socially excluded populations. This could involve community meetings and or surveys. The intern will then assist the municipality in its planning process through compiling the results of the research into a report. Additionally, the intern will be involved in making connections within all sectors to ensure that a multi-stakeholder approach is used to generate policy supported by the entire community. The Interns will assist in regional planning processes through compiling results of the research and dissemination of this information and the documentation of collaborative governance and other communication activities. The focus in Santo Andre is decent work and youth voice in governance strategies and planning with youth. |
