Literacy and Education Program Intern

Statut : Comblé
Organisation : World Literacy of Canada
Acronyme : WLC
Type : Organisme non gouvernemental
Mandat : World Literacy of Canada is a non-profit voluntary organization that promotes international development and social justice. WLC supports community-based programs that emphasize adult literacy and non-formal education for both children and adults. At World Literacy of Canada we believe that issues of poverty, illiteracy, gender inequality, disempowerment and poor health are intrinsically linked to each other, and so our development work in South Asia aims to address each of these in a holistic and culturally sensitive way. A key aspect of our programming is to bring public attention to issues of poverty, inequality and illiteracy in India, through Canadian programming in public schools and advocacy at our fundraising events, which are usually focused on literary topics or aspects of South Asian culture.
