Description du stage :	Program Assistant - Health Promotion / Adjoint/adjointe au programme - Promotion de la santé Position Description: Program support, review of GBA guidelines, assist with research activities such as literature review, data collection and dissemination tools, reports In the initial Canadian portion of the internship, the intern will have a two-week orientation to the project at ACEWH and IHO in Halifax, as well as participate in pre-departure training and skills building. During the five months with HSRC in Cape Town, South Africa, the intern will work with two HSRC programmes: Social Aspects of HIV/AIDS and Health (SAHA) and the Child, Youth, Family and Social Development programme (CYFSD). For more information about HRSC, see: http://www.hsrc.ac.za/Corporate_Information-45.phtml The intern will support specific projects within these divisions, paying particular attention to sex- and gender-based analysis and the interplay of social and economic determinants of health, while developing a range of research and project development skills and assisting with collaborative activities among ACEWH and IHO (both at Dalhousie) and HSRC. Additional and specific tasks will be assigned to each intern after recruitment and selection depending on each person's particular skills and experiences. Upon returning to Canada, the intern will assist with report dissemination and public engagement opportunities resulting from her/his experience in South Africa for a period of two weeks. NOTE: for more information before applying go to www.acewh.dal.ca Qualifications: · MA preferred, or BA with experience · Knowledge of gender based analysis, HIV/AIDS and health promotion or determinants of health · Interest in global health · Some research skills Description du poste: Offrir des services de soutien aux programmes, examiner les directives relatives à l'analyse comparative entre les sexes, participer aux activités de recherche en ce qui a trait notamment à l'examen de la documentation, aux outils de collecte et de diffusion de données, ainsi qu'aux rapports. Lors de la première partie de son stage (au Canada), le ou la stagiaire suivra une séance d'orientation de deux semaines relativement au projet du CEASF et de l'OHI à Halifax. Il participera également à une formation prédépart et à une formation sur le renforcement des capacités. Pendant son séjour de cinq mois au Cap, en Afrique du Sud, le ou la stagiaire travaillera aux deux programmes suivants du HSRC : Social Aspects of HIV/AIDS and Health (SAHA) et Child, Youth, Family and Social Development programme (CYFSD). Le ou la stagiaire appuiera des projets précis au sein de ces deux divisions, en prêtant une attention toute particulière à l'analyse comparative fondée sur le sexe et le genre ainsi qu'à l'interaction des déterminants socioéconomiques de la santé, tout en acquérant un ensemble de capacités de recherche et de développement de projets et en participant à des activités de collaboration au sein du CEASF et de l'OHI (Dalhousie dans les deux cas), ainsi que du HSRC.
