The NAM-VIP (Namibian Volunteer Involvement Program) project is managed
by SCORE and being implemented in collaboration with various Namibian
governmental and non-governmental stakeholders, including the PAY program. The
project aims to establish a basic 'community sports volunteer' training and
participation structure for Namibia, with special emphasis on building youth
leadership and 'development through sport - Sport-for-All' programming for
youth. Through this venture, youth will be provided with enhanced opportunities
to participate in their community and in sport, whilst gaining important life
and leadership skills. Women and girls, and issues of gender equity constitute
one of the main targets of the NAM-VIP project. Based in one of Namibia's provincial districts and working with the SCORE Country Coordinator, the intern will provide implementation support to the NAM-VIP project through: - Supporting the NAM-VIP Project Facilitators in training other volunteers and organizing community-wide sporting events, and enhancing their capacity through feedback, training, and networking; - Visiting project sites in district communities to support and participate in the community sporting events, as well as collect information to conduct Monitoring and Evaluation of the project; - Strengthening the Monitoring and Evaluation practices/systems of the NAM-VIP project, for the district communities, and the NAM-VIP project in general; - Providing general assistance in project coordination and engaging in skills-sharing with the SCORE Country Coordinator; - Networking and partnership-building with project stakeholders, which include: Ministry of Education, the Directorate of Sports, Physically Active Youth (PAY), CGC, and the various Namibian Sport Federations; |
