International Development Week 2015

Screening of “7 billion Others” and unveiling of IDW comic strips

As part of International Development Week, Carrefour Tiers-Monde, in partnership with POMD, Development and Peace, and Oxfam-Québec, invites you to watch short films from the “7 billion Others” and “Development matters” projects. Representatives of various countries from around the world will give you a very touching glimpse into their daily lives and tell you their vision of the outcomes of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

Also, Carrefour Tiers-Monde will introduce the official comic strips created by Quebec cartoonists on some overarching themes for the new MDGs: peace, inequalities, climate change, gender equality, and maternal, newborn and child health.

You will also have the chance to voice your opinion and make your priorities known for the upcoming MDG negotiations through an official United Nations survey.

Finally, bring your mug, because fair-trade coffee and chocolate will be provided, courtesy of Carrefour Tiers-Monde and the ÉquiMonde boutique.

We look forward to seeing you there!

* This project is made possible through the financial support of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada as part of International Development Week. This event is coordinated in Quebec by the Association québécoise des organismes de coopération internationale (AQOCI). .
