I-Week Youth Day

January 29th is the 2015 I-Week Youth Day - a full day of interactive workshops and lectures from some of the world’s most fascinating humanitarians, development workers, and social justice leaders.

Focusing on thoughtful and effective development work, Youth Day will challenge your perceptions of “helping the third world” and help give you the tools and connections to make impactful change. The event provides a great introduction to international development for grade 9-12 students.

Put on by the Alberta Council for Global Cooperation and the University of Alberta International Global Education Program, I-Week Youth Day allows student to participate in University I-Week sessions on international development with content specifically designed for them. I-Week is the University of Alberta’s International Week that explores global issues and celebrates cultural diversity.

This year’s keynote is Obiageli Ezekwesili the fascinating former Nigerian Minister of Education, former Vice-President of the World Bank’s Africa Division and co-founder of Transparency International who was instrumental in the #BringBackOurGirls Campaign.
